I am an 18-year-old B.Com student and I’m planning to apply for a student credit card. Can someone guide me on the eligibility criteria, documents required, and how to apply for a student credit card in India?

Yes you are eligible for student credit card.
Eligibility criteria for student credit card are-
Student must be 18+
Must be enrolled in college

Documents required-

  1. Identity card issued by the college/university
  2. Recent passport size photograph
  3. Birth Certificate
  4. PAN Card (Permanent Account Number)
  5. Proof of residential address

I too have a student credit card against fixed deposits (FD). The credit limit of the card is 90% of the FD’s amount. You can also have a credit card against Fixed Deposits or banks also provide an add-on Credit Card which is a supplementary card issued to a primary credit cardholder. It allows them sharing of most benefits of the primary card without the need for a separate joining fee or annual fees.
