Can add-on cardholders also earn free movie tickets with the Kotak PVR Credit Card? I’m thinking of getting an add-on card for a family member, but I’m not sure if their spending will count toward the ticket benefits. Do add-on cardholders get their own set of free tickets, or does their spending contribute to the primary cardholder’s requirement? If they do get tickets, are there any restrictions or separate spending thresholds?
Yes, add-on cardholders can earn free tickets with the Kotak PVR Credit Card, but there’s a catch—it’s not shared with the primary cardholder. I found this out when I considered getting an add-on card for a family member, thinking their spending would help me hit the monthly ₹10,000–₹15,000 requirement faster. Turns out, each card (primary and add-on) has to meet the spending threshold separately to unlock free tickets.
This means if you, as the primary cardholder, spend ₹10,000 in a month, you’ll get your set of free tickets (1 or 2, depending on the card variant). But if your add-on cardholder spends ₹10,000 separately, they will also get their own tickets. The spending is not combined between the two cards, which could be good or bad depending on how much your family members spend.
One thing to note is that the same restrictions apply to the free tickets on the add-on card. The ticket value is still capped at ₹400, and you can’t use them for IMAX, 4DX, Gold Class, or Director’s Cut. Also, since the benefits are the same, there’s no extra cashback on food or any additional perks for the add-on cardholder.
If your add-on cardholder spends a lot independently, this setup works well because they can earn their own free tickets without affecting yours. But if their spending is low or inconsistent, it might not be worth getting an add-on card just for this benefit. In my case, my family’s spending wasn’t high enough to justify separate thresholds, so we ended up just using the primary card for everything to maximize rewards.
Add-on cardholders don’t get a separate set of free tickets. Their spending is combined with the primary cardholder’s account, and it all counts toward meeting the monthly spend requirement for the free PVR tickets. The tickets are issued only under the primary cardholder’s account, so you’ll need to redeem them from there. No extra thresholds for add-ons.
Right now Kotak has stopped issuing the PVR card and for the Add-on free card, there is no such benefits. it is advised to go for a different card like SBI Aurum card but eligibility is really high
