CIBIL score required to apply for a student credit card

I’m 18 years old and currently a college student. I’m thinking about applying for a student credit card, but I don’t have a CIBIL score or any credit history yet. Will I still be eligible to apply for a student credit card in India?

Yes, you can get student credit card without a CIBIL score. You can get secured credits against Fixed Deposits or add on cards, as these alternatives don’t require a CIBIL score, making them best for building or improving your CIBIL score.
Add on cards- The primary cardholder can apply for an Add-on Card by submitting an Add-on Application Form at a branch or conveniently requesting one via Bank’s NetBanking.
Credit Cards Against FDs- If you have an FD with Bank that meets the minimum deposit and tenure criteria, you can apply for a Credit Card against it either by visiting a branch or through Bank’s NetBanking or Mobile Banking platforms.

I am an international student and have HDFC bank’s add-on credit card, my father is the primary cardholder. When there’s no other way to finance my urgent cash needs I use this card. I get cash back and reward points with every purchase, I can redeem these points in the form of cash or brand vouchers across groceries, restaurants, lifestyle, travel, etc. It also helps me to build my credit score.
