My Experience with IXIGO Credit Card from Rejection to Approval in 48 Hours After Escalation

It was around two weeks ago that I applied for the IXIGO Credit Card, and everything was quite smooth at first. The onboarding process was simple, and I did not experience any technical glitches. But then things began to go haywire during the address verification process.

There was a lot of confusion separate agents continued calling me, no one took firm responsibility for the case, and I was stuck in a round robin process of telephone communication. Two infuriating weeks later, my application was turned down without any explanation.

Disappointed, I opted to escalate the case. I wrote a lengthy email to the ombudsman of the bank on Sunday evening with the mismanagement and lack of coordination explained in detail. I was surprised when by Monday morning, I got a notification that my application had been reopened.

Later that same afternoon, there was a physical address verification visit from their representative. A few hours after that, I received a message informing me that my card had been approved. And by Wednesday morning, the IXIGO credit card arrived on my doorstep.

The urgency of action once escalation occurred was unexpected, and I appreciate how seriously the issue was finally treated. While I would have liked the process to have been smoother initially, I’m relieved that it was dealt with promptly after the matter was brought to light.
