Whats the best cards to get if you don't if you just start your credit card journey?

I recently started a job and wanted to know what will be the most rewarding cards as beginner, many LTF cards I don’t think give nice rewards, just paper weights with light features, just to fill spreadsheets in a file, what’s your thoughts guys

Hey, from my own start in handling credit cards, I felt a mix of excitement and nerves. so if you’re just beginning your credit-card journey, here’s a straightforward way to pick the best card for you:

What you should look for:

• Low or no annual fee – It’s wise to avoid cards with big fees when you’re still building credit.

• Good for your spending habits – If you mostly shop online, pick a card that gives extra rewards for online spends. If you dine out or travel, pick accordingly.

• Easy eligibility – As a beginner, you may have a shorter credit history. Entry-level cards are designed for that.

• Manageable limit and use – Don’t stretch to high spending; keep credit-utilisation low and make your payments on time.

My recommendation for your first card:

Since you’re just starting out, here’s what I’d personally go for:

• Choose a card that doesn’t burden you with big fees upfront.

• Focus on a category you use often (e.g., online shopping, groceries, fuel) to get real benefit.

• Use the card regularly but responsibly — pay the full balance each month if possible.

• After 6-12 months of good use, you’ll build credit and be in a strong spot for a “better” card later.
