Account Aggregator vs Bank Passbook for Passport Police Verification in India

Can I use an Account Aggregator report instead of my bank passbook for police verification during passport application? Which option is faster and more convenient?

Police verification for passport applications often requires proof of residence and financial credibility. Traditionally, applicants submit bank passbooks or statements. With Account Aggregators, verified digital financial data can be shared securely, potentially speeding up verification. Understanding the differences helps applicants provide the right documents efficiently.

Using Account Aggregator Report for Police Verification

When I submitted my Account Aggregator report for police verification, it included verified details of my bank accounts, transaction history, and balance. A friend mentioned that the police officer accepted the digital report without requiring the physical passbook, which made the process quicker and reduced manual document handling.

Using Physical Bank Passbook for Verification for Police Verification

A colleague used his physical bank passbook during police verification. He had to present multiple pages showing recent transactions and balance. While universally accepted, this method involved physically carrying the passbook and waiting for manual verification, which could take longer.

Combining Account Aggregator Report with Passbook for Police Verification

On a forum, users suggested that providing both an Account Aggregator report and the passbook can prevent any verification delays. One user shared that the aggregator report offered verified digital data, while the passbook served as a backup, ensuring smooth processing during police checks.

Hi Anshul, I think police verification needs proof of residence no? its better if you use bank passbook only

police verification does not check financial data they are for checking criminal background checks, address proof and proof of person
for financial checks i think we need to give docs first to the relevant party for the particular task, in most cases its passport which doesn’t need financial data
