I was just wondering can i use my amazon pay wallet for Fuel expense. Will it work on IOCL and BPCL outlets.
Hello there @Shivam.I was wondering the same So as an extrovert I am I ask the Fuel pump wale Bhaiya the same questionđ
.At first he doesnt understand the word coming out of my mouth,But then as I showed Amazon pay wallet to him,he understood and told me that You cant use this..
So yeah you cannot directly use Amazon Pay balance to pay for fuel at petrol pumps â neither via UPI nor at physical outlets â as fuel stations generally donât accept Amazon Pay as a payment option, and Amazon Pay balance has limited use cases set by RBI and Amazon.
Amazon Pay balance is classified under semi-closed wallets, and RBI guidelines restrict such wallets from direct cash withdrawal or P2P UPI payments.
You canât directly use Amazon Pay balance for fuel at most petrol pumps like IOCL or BPCL. Most fuel stations donât have the setup to accept Amazon Pay as a payment method.
Amazon Pay is mostly accepted online or at select merchants for things like shopping, bill payments, and food delivery. For fuel, UPI apps like PhonePe, Paytm, or credit/debit cards are more widely accepted. If you want to earn rewards or cashback, using a fuel credit card or specific fuel app is usually a better option.
Can you suggest me some of the best credit cards present for fuel rewards??
Like i have sbi bpcl card but its hard for me to find bpcl stations on long trips⌠Are there not any credit cards which i can you anywhere
Hi Shivam, interesting question, but as far as wi know you canât really swipe your Amazon Pay balance at fuel pumps, Shivam. They usually donât accept it, think of it more like a âgift cardâ wallet for shopping, bills, and food delivery, not petrol. For fuel, UPI or a good fuel rewards credit card is your best bet.
There are users who have used HP Pay app to pay for the fuel purchase through amazon pay wallet. This will be applicable only on the purchase at Hindustan Petroleum fuel stations but is a good way to get rewards on your fuel purchases (provided you are maximising rewards using your credit card while loading amazon pay wallet).
You canât use Amazon Pay balance for fuel payments at IOCL, BPCL or HPCL outlets. RBI has restricted wallet money from being used on things like fuel, insurance and other high value spends. At petrol pumps you will only see Amazon Pay UPI as a payment option, not the wallet balance. So if you want to pay directly from your Amazon account at fuel stations, stick to UPI. The wallet balance is better kept for food orders, tickets, recharges and Amazon shopping.
