Credit Card Review: HSBC Rupay Platinum Credit Card and HSBC RuPay Cashback Credit Card

HSBC India has just launched two new Rupay Network credit cards called the HSBC RuPay Platinum Credit Card and the HSBC RuPay Cashback Credit Card.

So here’s the detailed review of both the credit cards-

HSBC Rupay Platinum Credit Card-
HSBC Rupay platinum credit card has no annual and joining fees. You can integrate this credit card with UPI apps and earn reward points on credit card-linked UPI payments.
Benefits-

  • Earn 2 Reward points for every INR150 you spend with your card with no caps or exclusions explicitly outlined by HSBC o the reward system looks quite good and flexible. You can instantly convert your reward points to air miles and hotel loyalty points in the HSBC India Mobile Banking app.
  • You can save upto 10% on on grocery deliveries with Swiggy Instamartof INR500 and above (max discount INR200).
  • You can save 10% on orders of makeup, skincare and more at Tira of INR2,499 or more every Wednesday (max discount INR1,000).

HSBC RuPay Cashback Credit Card-
With this credit card you can get 2 complimentary local Airport Lounge visit per quarter and 2 international visits per year and this also comes with 0% forex markup fee.

  • Joining fee is Rs. 499 and annual fees is Rs. 499. Annual Fee can waived of if you spend more than 2 Lakhs in a year.
    Benefits-
  • Get 10% cashback on dining, food delivery and grocery spending plus earn 1% cashback on all other eligible spends.
  • You can save upto 10% on on grocery deliveries with Swiggy Instamartof INR500 and above (max discount INR200).
  • You can save 10% on orders of makeup, skincare and more at Tira of INR2,499 or more every Wednesday (max discount INR1,000).
  • Get discounts up to INR6,000 on flights and hotels via Cleartrip.
  • Get 5% off transactions of INR299 or more on mobile (prepaid and postpaid), broadband, DTH, water bills, gas cylinders, piped gas bills, FASTag and electricity bills (max discount INR150) made with PayTm.
    Eligibility Criteria(for both the credit cards)-
  • Be aged between 18 to 65 years old
  • Have a minimum income of INR400,000 per year for salaried individuals
  • Be an Indian resident
  • Reside in Chennai, Gurgaon, Delhi National Capital Region (NCR), Pune, Noida, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kochi, Coimbatore, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad or Kolkata.

So here’s my opinion-

  • HSBC’s cashback credit card can be useful for the one who wants cashbacks on day to day purchases as it is giving 10% cashback on dining, food delivery and grocery spending. Platinum card is for the one who values lifestyle perks, reward points, and travel privileges as you can earn 2 Reward points for every INR150 you spend with your card and convert them for reward points to air miles and hotel loyalty points.
