Does PayZapp wallet support RuPay card linking?

I recently received a new RuPay credit card and I’d like to link it to my PayZapp wallet for payments. Does the app support this, or is it only for Visa and Mastercard?

Yes, as of 2025, PayZapp supports the linking of RuPay debit and credit cards. In line with the widespread adoption of the RuPay network across India, you can add your RuPay card to the app for various transactions, including adding money to your wallet, paying bills, and even for UPI payments in the case of RuPay credit cards.

Adding a RuPay Card for Payments in PayZapp

My friend recently received his new HDFC Bank RuPay credit card and was pleased to find he could add it to his PayZapp account without any issues. He followed the same process as his old Visa card: he went to the ‘Manage Cards’ section, entered his RuPay card details, and completed the OTP verification. He now uses it as his primary card for making payments through the app.

Using a RuPay Credit Card on UPI Through PayZapp

I was recently explaining to a colleague about the feature of using RuPay credit cards for UPI transactions. He was able to link his RuPay credit card to his UPI profile within the PayZapp app. Now, whenever he scans a merchant QR code, the app gives him the option to pay either from his linked bank account or directly from his RuPay credit card, which helps him earn reward points on even small UPI payments.

What to Do If Your RuPay Card is Not Supported by PayZapp

A relative who has a RuPay card issued by a smaller co-operative bank faced an issue while trying to add it to PayZapp. I explained that while PayZapp supports RuPay cards from nearly all major banks, there can sometimes be compatibility issues with cards from certain smaller or regional banks. In such cases, the first step is to contact the card-issuing bank to ensure it is fully enabled for e-commerce and third-party app transactions.
