HDFC Millennia to DCB Metal Upgrade

I have been using the HDFC Millennia credit card for the last two years, and now i am thinking of upgrading to the HDFC Diners Club Black (DCB) metal card I would love to get some advice on how to approach it.

He is my background

Current Card: HDFC Millennia with 4.59L credit limit

Desired Card: HDFC DCB Metal

Cibil Score: 792

I have a salary account with HDFC

I have an ITR of more than 65L, but in-hand salary is low at around 1.5L due to bonus and stock components.

Annual spends: I have recently started to use Millennia as my main credit card, and my expected expenditure will be around 5L in the next 6 months.

I have previously been offered Regalia Gold LTF by my RM, which I rejected as most of my spending was on Online Shopping, for which I thought Millennia was better. Although I still get the option to upgrade to Regalia Gold FYF on Netbanking/MyCards.

These are my main questions

  • Do I need to upgrade to Regalia Gold to upgrade to DCB Metal?
  • What is the specific eligibility criteria for DCB Metal?
  • Any tips on how to improve my chances of getting the upgrade approved?

  1. No issues, I was able to upgrade my wife’s Millennia to Infinia.
  2. Well, I don’t think so
  3. Try RM or BM sometime, a good relationship with the manager can also help
You should have taken LTF Regalia Gold, as pr high spending amount on it would be okay since rewarded caping is higher.
