Has anyone from Rajasthan tried to download or correct their birth certificate online? I’m planning to update mine but not sure which portal to use or what documents are needed. Do we have to visit the municipal office after applying online, or is the whole process completely digital now?
I was also curious about this recently because many Rajasthan residents want to fix spelling mistakes or download a fresh copy without standing in long queues.
How to download or correct your birth certificate online in Rajasthan
1. Download a digital copy (no change needed)
-
Visit the official Pehchan Portal: https://pehchan.rajasthan.gov.in
-
Click “Citizen Services” then go to “Birth Certificate” then “Download Certificate”
-
Enter your registration number or child’s name + date of birth and mother’s name and solve the captcha
-
The digitally signed PDF appears instantly, save it or print it
2. Correct name, date, or parent detail online
-
On the same portal, choose “Correction in Birth Certificate”
-
Log in with your mobile OTP
-
Select the field you want to change (name spelling, date of birth, parent name)
-
Upload:
-
scanned old certificate
-
notarised affidavit on ₹50 stamp paper
-
parent/child Aadhaar
-
early-life proof (hospital discharge, first school form)
-
Pay ₹50–₹200 online and submit
-
Track with the acknowledgement number; most urban bodies issue the updated certificate within 7–15 working days
3. Still stuck? Use the built-in grievance button
If the status does not move, click “Grievance” on the portal or email [email protected] with your acknowledgement number they reply within 48 hours .
