How does the application process go for the Club Vistara SBI Credit Card?

How does the application process go for the Club Vistara SBI Credit Card? Are there any issues or challenges I should be aware of during the application?

I recently applied for the Club Vistara SBI Credit Card, and while the process wasn’t too complicated, there were definitely a few bumps along the way that I wasn’t expecting. First off, I applied online, which seemed like the fastest option, and the application form was pretty straightforward. After submitting my details, I got a verification call soon after. However, the call didn’t go as smoothly as I hoped. The person on the other end didn’t speak my language fluently, which made the conversation a bit confusing, and it took longer than expected to get everything sorted.

One thing I didn’t realize at first was that if you already have an SBI card, your application might be at risk of getting rejected. Since I had a couple of SBI cards already, my application was delayed. It turns out that SBI doesn’t like it when you have multiple cards from them, and they’ll sometimes reject the application or take longer to process it. My advice is to close any existing SBI cards before applying to avoid this issue—it’ll save you a lot of time.

I also ran into some issues with my credit limit. I didn’t realize that having a low limit on my other SBI cards might affect the approval. If your credit score isn’t high enough, it can be a red flag, and I found out that SBI likes to see a decent credit limit to approve the Club Vistara card. So, make sure your credit score is in good shape before applying—it really does make a difference.

The annual fee of ₹1,499 + taxes also caught me off guard a little. I knew about it, but when I got the card approved, I didn’t realize how much I’d have to spend to make the benefits worthwhile. If you’re not flying with Vistara or Air India often, you might find that the value you get from the card isn’t as much as the fee you’re paying.

In short, the application process itself is simple enough, but be aware of your existing SBI cards (close any extra ones), make sure your credit score is good, and understand the annual fee before you apply. The process was a bit more complicated than I expected, but once I got through the bumps, it worked out.
