How I Got My Axis Atlas Credit Card Limit increased from ₹1.4L to ₹ 6L, No Documents, No Hassle

I had obtained the Axis Atlas Credit Card back in March. I received it with a credit limit of ₹ 1.4 L, which didn’t impress me at first. I had the Flipkart Axis card prior to this, too, with a humble limit, and it had served for normal use.

But with recent travel and a change in my spending habits, I needed some extra room. So I set out to find out if I could raise the limit and here’s how I did it exactly.

What I Did to Get My Credit Limit Increased

I just sent an email to my Relationship Manager at Axis Bank, requesting if I could increase the limit on my Atlas card.

The next day, I received a call. The rep inquired about how much I wanted. I mentioned ₹6,00,000, no harm in hoping for the best, I thought.

To my surprise, they told me they’d raise a backend request no paperwork, proof of income, or salary slips were requested.

Four days later, I looked at my Axis app and discovered that my credit limit had increased from ₹1.4L to ₹6L. Poof.

Why I Think It Worked

A few things might have done me a favour:

I have my Axis salary account, which probably made it easier for the team to evaluate my eligibility.

My take-home salary every month is approximately ₹ 2.2 lakh, and I’ve been regular with my spending and repayment.

I didn’t wait for them to offer, I simply asked.

It was refreshingly uncomplicated.

My Current Credit Card Limits

With the Axis Atlas card now updated, my credit card roster stands as follows:

Amazon ICICI Card: ₹6,00,000

HDFC Tata Neu Infinity Card: ₹1,80,000

Scapia Card: ₹3,60,000

IndusInd EazyDiner: ₹5,00,000

Axis Atlas (after hike): ₹6,00,000

I also have SBI and ICICI Amazon cards, and in my experience, they automatically hike limits over time, usually without asking for it. But with Axis (and certainly HDFC), it always seemed like you needed to go through hoops or just wait forever.
