I want to activate HDFC NetBanking online but I don’t have my Customer ID handy. Can I use my PAN card details instead to register and get access?
Step-by-step get HDFC NetBanking Using Your PAN Card (No Customer ID Needed)
Option 1 - Online with Debit Card & PAN (fastest)
Option 2 - Phone Banking with PAN (no Customer ID needed)
Option 3 - Branch Visit (if online/phone doesn’t work)
Method | What You Need | How Long |
---|---|---|
Online with Debit Card & PAN | • HDFC Debit Card • PAN card number • Your phone number |
5-10 min Really Easy |
Phone Banking with PAN | • PAN card number • Your phone number • Account number |
5-10 min + 5 days for password Easy |
Branch Visit | • Bank book or account number • PAN or Aadhaar • NetBanking form |
1-3 days Pretty Easy |
Here’s what to do:
-
Do it online with your debit card and PAN: Go to netbanking.hdfcbank→ click “Register Now” → choose “Debit Card” → type in your account number, debit card info, ATM PIN, expiry date, and PAN number → enter the code they text you → make a password (8-20 characters) → you’re done! No Customer ID needed.
-
Call them with your PAN: Call HDFC (1800 202 6161 or 1860 267 6161) from your registered phone → pick “NetBanking Registration” → give them your account number and PAN to prove it’s you → ask for Customer ID and password → they’ll mail your password in 5 days → then log in with your new info.
-
Check if your phone is connected: Both ways need your phone to be registered with HDFC for security codes. Not connected. Update it at any ATM → put in your card → press “Services” → press “Mobile Number Update” → type your number → confirm with code. Or visit any branch with your PAN/Aadhaar.
-
Go to the bank if needed: If online or phone doesn’t work, just visit any HDFC branch with your bank book and PAN/Aadhaar → fill out their NetBanking form → they’ll give you Customer ID and mail your password in 1-3 days.
-
Try the HDFC app: Download HDFC Bank app → tap “Register” → enter your account number, debit card info, and PAN → verify the code they send → set your password. No Customer ID required.
The deal:
- You can get HDFC NetBanking without Customer ID by using your debit card and PAN to prove who you are, as long as your phone is registered with them.
- Calling works too but you’ll wait a few days for your password in the mail.
- If your phone isn’t connected, a quick ATM visit fixes that. Once everything’s set up, you’ll have your HDFC NetBanking ready to manage your money online!
