I’m planning to get my birth certificate in Delhi but want to do it online can someone guide me on how to apply or download a birth certificate in Delhi online, including which website to use?
Last week I helped my neighbour download her son’s Delhi birth certificate for school admission, and it took less than five minutes no login, no fee, just the basic details.
How to apply for or download a birth certificate in Delhi online
1. Download an existing certificate (no change needed)
-
Go to the NDMC portal: [https://eservices.ndmc.gov.in/birth/](https://eservices.ndmc.gov.in/birth/](https://eservices.ndmc.gov.in/birth/))
-
Click “Online Birth Certificate”
-
Fill any two of these fields: child’s name, date of birth, father’s name, mother’s name, place of birth
-
Press “Search” then click “Get Certificate” then enter your contact details
-
The digitally signed PDF opens instantly save or print it
2. Apply for a new certificate (if birth was never registered)
-
Visit https://edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in then “Apply Services” then “Birth Certificate”
-
Fill the online form, upload: hospital discharge slip (proof of birth), parent ID (Aadhaar/passport), address proof (ration card/utility bill), passport-size photo of the child
-
Pay ₹21–₹200 (varies by area) and submit
-
You’ll get an application number; the certificate is usually ready within 7 working days and you can download it from the same portal
3. Still stuck?
- Use the “Track Application” link on the same portal or call 011-23370114 (Delhi e-District helpline) and quote your application number
