I’ve moved to a new city and just updated my address on my Aadhaar card. Now the address in my PayZapp wallet is outdated. How can I update my PayZapp KYC to reflect my new Aadhaar details?
Once your full KYC is complete, your details are locked in as per regulatory guidelines. If your information, like the address on your Aadhaar card, changes, you cannot just edit it in your profile. You need to complete a “Re-KYC” process, which essentially means re-doing the verification with your new, updated documents.
Step 1: Understand the Re-KYC Requirement
My friend recently moved and faced this exact issue. He went through his PayZapp profile, looking for an “edit address” button in the KYC section, but couldn’t find one. This is because KYC is a formal verification process to confirm your identity and address at a specific point in time. For security and regulatory compliance, these verified details are locked and cannot be changed casually. Updating them requires a fresh verification to maintain the integrity of the account.
Step 2: Contact Customer Support to Initiate the Process
A colleague of mine had to update her name on her Aadhaar after getting married and wanted it reflected in PayZapp. She found that the only way to do this was to initiate a Re-KYC. For this, she had to contact HDFC Bank’s customer support and explain the situation. They guided her on the steps to re-initiate the KYC verification process through the app, which would then override her old, outdated information with the new details once completed.
Step 3: Prepare Your Documents for Re-Verification
The Re-KYC process is identical to the first time you did your full KYC. When my cousin had to update his address, I told him to be prepared just like before. He needed his PAN card for identity verification and, most importantly, his new Aadhaar card with the updated address. During the video verification part of the process, he had to show his original PAN card again to the agent. Having the correct, updated documents ready made the re-verification go just as smoothly as his initial KYC.
