PhonePe can be used for many purposes-
1.) UPI Money Transfers –
Instantly send or receive money between bank accounts using UPI without any charges.
2.) Bill Payments & Recharges –
Pay electricity, water, gas bills, or recharge your mobile, DTH, and FASTag easily.
3.) Online & Offline Shopping –
Make secure payments on shopping apps and at local stores that accept PhonePe.
4.) Financial Services –
Invest in gold, buy insurance, or explore mutual funds directly through the app.
I have started using the PhonePe app but I’m not clear about how to use the PhonePe Wallet. Can you guide me on how to add money, make payments, and use it for everyday transactions?

1. Add Money to Your Wallet:
Open the PhonePe app, tap on “My Money”, and locate the Wallets / Gift Voucher section.
Tap on PhonePe Wallet, enter the desired amount, and choose your payment method—UPI, debit card, or credit card—then authorize the transaction with your UPI PIN.
2. Understand Wallet Limits:
If you have a Small PPI (Minimum KYC) wallet, the maximum balance you can hold is ₹10,000, with a monthly reload limit of ₹10,000 and an annual limit of ₹1,20,000. Please note: you cannot transfer or withdraw these funds—they can only be used for purchases.
With a Full KYC wallet, the balance cap increases to ₹2,00,000, and you may use it not only for purchases but also for fund transfers to pre-registered beneficiaries (capped per regulatory limits).
3. Make Payments Using the Wallet:
When you’re paying at a store or on a merchant platform, select PhonePe Wallet as the payment option.
The wallet allows you to pay seamlessly without needing to enter OTPs or PINs once the transaction is authenticated in-app.
4. Monitor Your Wallet Activity:
You can easily track your transactions by revisiting the PhonePe Wallet section within the app. All your activity, including wallet loads and spends, is displayed there—usually with at least six months of history.
5. Understanding Charges:
Wallet creation or usage generally doesn’t incur a fee.
However, some payment methods may attract a “convenience fee.” For example, using a credit or debit card to reload might cost between 0.5% to 3% plus GST, which will be transparently shown before you complete the transaction.
