ICICI Credit Card issued when I was a student - How to Increase Limit?

I was in the final year of B.Tech when ICICI Bank Representatives came to my college (late 2022) and offered us assured ICICI HPCL Super Saver Card with 50k limit, as we were placed students in a prestigious college.

I got the card although it had an annual fee of 500+GST because the benefits were decent (planned to use BookMyShow and Lounge back then), but more importantly because I wanted to build my credit score, and the salesperson said that I will get the offer for Amazon Pay ICICI within 3 months.

It’s been more than a year since that. I joined my job 6 months ago.

Got the Amazon ICICI Card and a few other ones too (with better limits). However, all the ICICI Cards are sharing the same 50k limit, and I didn’t get an offer for limit increase when others were getting it in December.

I think it is because I am still registered as a student with ICICI. I called customer service regarding this, and they said limit increase will be offered according to usage only (which I have good usage, good CIBIL, and all timely payments) and that there is no such thing as ‘student’.

Is there any way to get the limit increased? Or should I wait till after I file my first ITR?

(I want the limit increase to get better cards, as C2C needs atleast 1 year old CC)

Since you’re salaried, salary slips of last 3 months would do the job. You can write to their customer care for limit increase.

Sure, will do!

The generic email ID or is there any specific one I should write to?

I mail to [email protected] whenever I need to. Explain them that you are now a salaried employee earn xxxx per month and can provide salary slips of last 3 months etc.

got it! Noted.

Will do, thank you!

If they don’t listen, you can also write to their PNO and in meanwhile you can also apply for another card. So your overall credit limit will be increased and using ICICI card to the max wouldn’t affect your utilization ratio much.

Sure! My other cards have around 2L, but only ICICI is stuck at 50k…
