Is it safe to remove Anumati Account Aggregator after SBI loan approval?

I applied for a loan from SBI Bank, and now that I’ve received the loan, I’m thinking of terminating my Anumati Account Aggregator access. Is it the right decision?

Yes, it is generally safe to remove or unlink the Anumati Account Aggregator from your financial accounts after your SBI loan is approved, especially if the data sharing was for one-time verification during the loan application process. Account Aggregators like Anumati work on a consent-based model, meaning your financial data is shared only with your permission and for a specific purpose or time period.

Once your loan is sanctioned and no further data sharing is required, you can revoke your consent or deactivate the linkage via the Anumati app or dashboard. Doing so will stop any further data flow between your bank (like SBI) and the FIU (in this case, SBI’s lending system).

Just make sure:

  • Your loan has been fully processed and disbursed.
  • SBI or any other financial institution doesn’t require ongoing access for EMI monitoring or future top-ups.

Yes, it’s safe to remove Anumati Account Aggregator access after your SBI loan is approved, as long as the bank no longer needs ongoing access to your financial data. Many lenders use account aggregators just during the approval process.

Still, it’s a good idea to double-check with SBI to confirm they don’t require continuous access for monitoring or compliance. If not, you can safely revoke consent through the Anumati app or portal.

yeah this is safe to do so, revoking your consent after the designatedd use case is acheived is perfectly fine to do

Can you please tell me What is an Account Aggregator ? Is it a mandatory thing while applying for a loan ?

An Account Aggregator (AA) is an RBI-regulated entity in India that provides a consent-based, secure digital platform for individuals to share their financial data between their financial institutions and other services, such as lenders or financial advisors.

It is not necessary for users to apply for loan

What is an Account Aggregator? I have never heard about it before. Can anyone please explain what it means and how it works, in simple words explain me like i am a 5?

Yes. It is safe to remove the Anumati Account aggregtor consent after the loan as been approved. The financial institution, SBI in this case, only does a check on the AA once

Think of Account Aggregator as a one-time courier: it peeks into all your money boxes, tells the bank only the total you approve, then forgets everything—no papers, no passwords, no copies left behind.
