I’m a bit curious about the Kiwi Credit Card. Some sources say it’s lifetime free, while others mention there might be certain hidden fees or charges later on. Can anyone confirm if it’s truly free forever, or are there conditions where charges apply? Would be helpful if recent cardholders could share their experience.
Got my Kiwi card like 8 months ago because everyone kept saying it’s lifetime free wanted to see if that’s actually true.
So far it’s been completely free, but they have some fine print they don’t really talk about upfront. Here’s what’s gone down:
| What they promised | What’s happening | Weird conditions | My take |
|---|---|---|---|
| No annual fees ever | Haven’t paid anything yet | Use it once every 6 months | Pretty reasonable |
| Zero joining fee | Got card without paying | None | Actually kept their word |
| Free forex | No charges abroad | Only for card payments | Worked great in Goa |
| No random fees | Statements are clean | Haven’t found any | Seems legit |
What I’ve noticed:
- 8 months, zero fees - every statement shows ₹0 for annual stuff
- Gotta use it sometimes - they want at least one transaction every 6 months
- No surprise charges anywhere - bills are pretty straightforward
- International stuff works - used it for some US website purchases, no extra costs
- Virtual and physical both free - no separate charges for either
Weird things I found out:
- Fine print says they can “change terms” if you don’t use the card enough
- Called support once, guy was super vague about long-term fee policy
- Saw some old Reddit posts about people getting charged after 2 years, but idk if that’s real
How I use it: Maybe 2-3 times a month, mostly for booking flights and ordering food.
Real story: Actually been free for 8 months straight. That 6-month usage thing is easy literally one Zomato order covers it.
Better than those cards that trick you with “first year free” then hit you later. Still watching to see what happens in year 2 though!
