What are the reward points and milestone benefits of the ICICI Coral Credit Card?

What are the reward points and milestone benefits of the ICICI Coral Credit Card? I’m considering getting this card, but I want to understand how the reward system works. How many points do you earn per transaction, and are there different rates for different types of spending? Also, are there any milestone benefits for higher spending, like fee waivers or bonus points? Do these rewards translate into good value when redeeming them, or are they restrictive in terms of where and how they can be used?

Honestly, when I first got the ICICI Coral Credit Card, I was pretty excited about the rewards and milestone benefits. But after using it for a while, I realized that the reward system isn’t as great as it looks on paper.

Reward Points – Not That Impressive

At first, I thought, “Hey, 2 reward points per ₹100 sounds decent,” but then I did the math. Since 1 point is only worth ₹0.25, that means I’m barely getting 0.5% back on regular spends. And for things like utility bills and insurance payments, where you only get 1 point per ₹100, the effective return is just 0.25%. That’s… almost nothing.

I’ve used other cards like the Amazon Pay ICICI (1%-5% cashback) and Flipkart Axis (1.5%-5%), and they feel way more rewarding. With the Coral card, I kept accumulating points but when I finally checked the redemption catalog, it felt like I was saving up forever just to redeem a tiny discount on something I didn’t even want.

Milestone Benefits – Just Okay, Nothing Exciting

One of the reasons I stuck with the card was the milestone benefits:

  • If you spend ₹1 lakh in a year, they waive the ₹500 annual fee, which is nice but expected from most decent cards.
  • If you spend ₹2 lakh in a year, you get ₹750 in gift vouchers. That sounded good at first, but then I realized that’s just a 0.375% reward rate—barely anything! And you don’t even get to choose cashback, just vouchers that may or may not be useful.

Compared to something like HDFC Millennia, which gives 5% on online spends and better milestone rewards, this card feels very average.

Final Thoughts – Would I Keep Using This for Rewards?

If you’re getting this card purely for rewards and milestones, I wouldn’t recommend it. The points take too long to accumulate, their value is low, and the milestone benefits don’t feel that special. The only reason to keep this card is for the BookMyShow BOGO movie offer and lounge access—which, honestly, is what I use it for.

So, if you want a true rewards card, you’d be much better off with a cashback-focused card like Amazon Pay ICICI or Flipkart Axis. But if you already have the Coral and are hoping the rewards will be worth it—trust me, they won’t.
