I am in college now. Looking for some good credit cards. I have some debit cards and I feel, I am more like a collector. Ik I am not eligible for most cards now without income. Still anything to start building my credit history? I have applied for the FD Based credit card by Super.money a few days back. Another question, I still do not have any credit history, so can I apply for the IDFC Wow Card? As I have heard applying for too many cards in a short period of time can reduce credit score.
I am a beginner to credit card knowledge, so I might have some misconceptions, corrections would be appreciated. But I am good at managing my finances.
If you dont want to go for FD backed credit cards, you can try applying for paylater services / credit line like amazon paylater, etc. If you are lucky they might approve and give you a low credit limit, use it under 30% of total limit, avoid delayed payments. This will build your cibil and later you can apply for good cards. Meanwhile open a savings account in a bank which you think has good credit cards ( hdfc - no brainer , axis is good too ), with good credit score eventually you will get pre approved credit card offers.
Alright. Got it! Thanks Are there anymore FD backed credit cards? Also, saw about Amazon Pay Later, but it required minimum age of 21, also with income. So no hope for now ig.
HDFC gave me their entry level CC at 18 so I took it. Now at 21 - I have Axis Atlas, Amex MRCC, HDFC Swiggy, SBI Cashback and many more.
If you are above 21 - you can try entry level cards like Amazon Pay ICICI or Axis NEO (if you have credit score) - otherwise try building via FD based CC.
