I’m a 21-year-old and currently trying to decide whether I should apply for a student credit card or a regular credit card. I’m a bit confused about which one would be more suitable for me at this stage. Could someone please explain the key differences between a student credit card and a regular credit card?
If you are in college and have no income or credit score, you should go for student credit card as it will help you to build credit history but if you have regular income and have a strong credit history you can go for regular one.

I got my student credit card when I was 19 and had no income and no credit score at that time. So Student Credit Cards are designed to cater to the financial needs of students as they don’t have a monthly income or an established credit score. These Cards can be obtained in two primary ways, first is as add on credit card and second one is as credit card against Fixed Deposits. Student credit cards don’t have a annual fee or joining fees but contain late fee, foreign transaction fee etc.
