I’m trying to link my SBI account, and I’m using the OneMoney app, but it’s stuck on the Finvu OTP screen. What’s going on? Why is the OTP not showing up?
This is a very common point of confusion. The names “OneMoney” and “Finvu” might show up in different parts of the process because they are both Account Aggregators (AAs) that are part of the same ecosystem. However, the problem of a stuck OTP screen is almost never about a conflict between two AAs. The issue is usually a deeper problem with the data, your phone, or the bank’s system itself.
The Technical Relation Between Your AA and SBI
I had a similar issue when trying to link my SBI account. The app just sat there on a screen saying “waiting for OTP.” It took me a while to realize the problem wasn’t with the app I was using. The moment you initiate a request, the AA sends a secure, encrypted message to SBI’s servers. SBI’s system then generates the OTP and sends it directly to your phone. If that screen is stuck, it means the request from the AA was sent, but the OTP hasn’t been generated by SBI or sent by their SMS service. The AA is simply waiting for a response that isn’t coming.
A Data Mismatch Between Your Account and the Aggregator
My cousin faced this exact problem. He was trying to link his SBI account to a financial app, but the OTP would never arrive. It turned out he had two phone numbers linked to his SBI account—an old one he didn’t use anymore and a new one. The bank’s system, for some reason, was defaulting to his old number and sending the OTP there. The aggregator has no way of knowing this. The fix was for him to go into his SBI Net Banking account and delete the old number. Once he did, the next request from the aggregator worked perfectly.
Why Your Phone Might Be Blocking the SBI OTP
A friend who is a tech support agent told me about this one. He’s seen countless cases where users get stuck on the OTP screen, and the issue is literally their phone. Sometimes, the bank’s sender ID is accidentally flagged as spam by the phone’s native messaging app or a third-party spam blocker. The OTP is being delivered, but it’s being sent straight to a hidden folder. Other times, it’s a full inbox. The solution is simple: check your spam or blocked folder, delete some old messages to free up space, or clear the cache of your messaging app. It’s an easy fix that many people overlook.
