I’m having trouble accessing the SBI YONO app, and the login just isn’t going through either the MPIN isn’t accepted, the app freezes, or it keeps showing an error like “Session expired” or “Invalid credentials.” Can someone explain the common reasons behind these login failures.
Common causes and how to fix them
1. Incorrect MPIN or Password
Fix:
- Tap “Forgot MPIN” or “Forgot User ID/Password”
- Verify using OTP
- Set a new MPIN
2. Outdated YONO App Version
Fix:
- Update the YONO app from Play Store or App Store
- Restart the phone and try again
3. SBI Server Issues (Very Common)
Fix:
- Wait for 10–30 minutes
- Try again later
- Check SBI outage updates on Twitter or customer care
4. Device or SIM Change
Fix:
- Log in using Internet Banking User ID + Password
- Complete OTP verification
- Set a new MPIN
5. Registered Mobile Number Not Active
Fix:
- Ensure your mobile number has network/SMS balance
- Disable VPN
- Keep the SIM in SIM slot 1 (for some phones)
6. App Cache or Data Corruption
Fix (Android):
- Go to Settings → Apps → YONO SBI → Storage → Clear Cache
- Reopen the app
or simply reinstall the app
7. Device Security Issues
Fix:
- Use a standard, non-rooted device
- Enable Play Protect and update Google Play Services
8. Profile Lock by SBI
If SBI detects unusual activity, your YONO profile may get temporarily locked.
Fix:
- Reset password on onlinesbi.com
- Or call SBI Customer Care:
- 1800 1234 / 1800 2100 / 1800 425 3800
