Why Isn’t SBI YONO Account Aggregator Activation Working?

I tried activating Account Aggregator (AA) access on the SBI YONO app, but it repeatedly fails and doesn’t let me complete the process. I’d like to understand what might be causing this and how to fix it. Can someone explain?

SBI’s YONO app now includes Account Aggregator (AA) features, such as linking other bank accounts or sharing data with third-party services. Since it’s integrated into the app rather than a separate portal, glitches in activation can stem from app settings, device configuration, or registration steps. Here’s what I found from user accounts and technical guidance.

Common Fixes for SBI YONO AA Activation Issues

1. Ensure Your Device Has OS-Level Security Enabled for SBI YONO AA

When I faced a similar issue, I learned from SBI’s FAQ that the YONO app won’t let you register unless your device has an active lock screen, like a PIN, pattern, or fingerprint. Disabling this after registering also automatically blocks access. Enabling it resolved my activation roadblock.

2. Clear Cache & Update the App for SBI YONO AA

Another user mentioned their activation failed due to outdated app data. Clearing the app’s cache and data, then updating (or reinstalling) the app, helped clear underlying glitches and allowed a fresh activation attempt.

3. Check SIM and Registration Match for SBI YONO AA

SBI uses SIM binding for security. In my case, having a different SIM than what was linked to my account caused the activation to fail. Once I switched to the registered SIM, the AA link worked smoothly.

4. Fix Common Technical Glitches for SBI YONO AA

Many users encounter a “SB001 Technical Error” during registration, which SBI attributes to temporary system issues. Fixes include: clearing cache, updating the app, restarting the device, or trying again later when servers are stable.

5. Visit a Branch if It Still Fails for SBI YONO AA

A few users shared that online activation kept failing for unexplained reasons. Visiting a branch helped, staff could check backend flags or resubmit activation, and that cleared the blockage for them.

Arre Anshul, sbi is sucha pain only, they have had similar issues in the past also, tryagain maybe or contact the customer support

i think you are trying it at lunch time you can try after half an hour :joy:

The reason its not working is its SBI and they don’t need to do it till government forces them to, in my opinion you should use other AAs such as Finvu or others are the updates as these people focus on product rather having lunch

Which account aggregator does SBI Yono app use? It is Finvu, Anumati or NADL? There could be outage issues with specific account aggregators at times and that is pretty normal. Just try it out after a while and you should be good to go.

You can visit SBI branch, to resolve this issue.(Ofc not in lunch break)
