I recently submitted a claim to EPFO, but it was rejected. I’m not sure why this happened. Why was my EPFO claim rejected?
I experienced a similar situation when my EPFO claim was rejected, and it was quite frustrating at first. Usually, claim rejections happen due to some common issues rather than any permanent problem with your account.
Common Reasons for EPFO Claim Rejection:
• Incorrect or Incomplete Details: If any of the details submitted in your claim form, such as UAN, bank account, or personal information, are incorrect or incomplete, the claim may be rejected.
• KYC or Document Issues: Missing or mismatched KYC documents like Aadhaar, PAN, or bank details can lead to rejection.
• Previous Claims or Duplicate Requests: If a claim for the same period has already been processed or submitted, a new claim may be rejected.
• Employer Approval Pending: Some claims require employer verification. If this is pending or rejected, the claim may not be processed.
What You Can Do:
• Verify all your account and KYC details in your EPFO profile.
• Ensure all submitted documents are correct and match your EPFO account information.
• Contact your employer to confirm they have approved your claim.
• If you believe the rejection was an error, you can raise a grievance through the EPFiGMS portal for resolution.
